Images from the Woolery Stone Mill Project
Michael A. Finger

Located on Tapp Road on the southwest side, the Woolery Stone Mill is one of the most iconographic landmarks of the Bloomington landscape. Michael has been visiting this space and the location of the “other” Woolery Stone Mill, at the Cascades Park site, on and off for the past 20 years. His time spent at either location has been fruitful, as both places, in their time, have been redolent with imagery that presents a rich and melancholy record of the industrial past.

Quotidian Pleasures
Roger Pfingston

Photographic images are easy to capture these days and technology is making it easier every day...or so it seems. But “easy to capture” doesn’t necessarily equal what is significant in art. With regard to the term “art” and photography, Roger likes what Walker Evans had to say many years ago: “Whether he is an artist or not, the photographer is a joyous sensualist, for the simple reason that the eye traffics in feelings, not in thoughts.” More in recent years Roger's relationship with photography has been one of quotidian pleasures, capturing what a given day offers as he explores his own backyard.
